Why does a cat bury a bowl?
Cats often surprise their owners with strange habits. Some refuse to drink from a bowl, but stubbornly attack the tap. Others arrange the most rigorous test drive for fillers. Still others act like an alarm clock in the middle of the night, suddenly deciding to knead their feet on their master’s belly. But if you delve into the matter, we will find that many of the “strange” habits are not at all strange. These are echoes of instincts that in the wild save feline lives. Cats are great hunters. But even ideal predators have bad days. In the wild, cats do not always come back from hunting carrying prey in their teeth. Sometimes they come with nothing. For such cases, in order not to die of starvation, cats create reserves for themselves. After a successful hunt, they bury the remnants of food – so deep that other predators did not smell it.
